The Lost Subways of North America

Before the Second World War, North American cities were built around the train like their European counterparts.  Most of these rail lines became unprofitable and were shut down after World War II, due to automobile competition.  My project is to map those lost systems, along with rapid transit systems that never got off the drawing board.
