Dallas had the largest streetcar system in Texas during the interwar period.  I drew a map of the system near its height in 1919.  In addition to the local streetcar system, the interurban system covered an area substantially larger than the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex is today, going as far as Waco, 80 miles away.  This system, like most other streetcar systems in the United States, was eventually dismantled, though some parts of the system survived until after World War II.  This map was featured in D Magazine
