The Lost Subways of North America - Puerto Rico

Puerto Rico is a bit of an anomaly.  When the Americans conquered the island in 1898, Puerto Rico was a poor agricultural outpost, one of the last remnants of Spain's colonial empire.  The reforms of Operation Bootstrap in the 1950s modernized the island's economy, and rapid transit was planned to be part of that modernization.

The Lost Subways book will come out in November; pre-orders are open.
